Capucins Market
The Capucins market is located at the edge of the old town of Saint Michel, by the exit for "Plaza de la Victoria". It is known as "Capus" in Bordeaux. The first market took place in 1749 in the large square; the building is now a closed off market. In those days it was mostly a cattle market, with cows and bulls being the most sold product. Little by little more jobs and crafts became present at the market, such as crafts, fruit, vegetables and fish vendors. Family business is passed from father to son. In the nineteenth century the place became the point of wholesale of town for the entire region.
