Marta Pilar
Market and Municipal Fridge
This building was inaugurated on February 15, 1936 on the same site occupying the old market founded by Governor Absalom Rojas. It has a dome-shaped roof on a large rectangle, and is accessed by Pedestrian Tucumán and La Plata Street exit. There are three floors, the ground floor retail shops: grocers, butchers, greengrocers, fishmongers, bakeries, grocery stores, bars, etc.., There are retailers and wholesalers that sell food, forklifts, and even bathrooms. On the first floor, also accessed by an escalator, there is a covered veranda for the market of regional handicrafts, poultry and game. On their side is a municipal office space and its dependencies and on the second floor are the freezers.
It was completely built on a concrete base by Jorge Kalnay. Remodeling and incorporating some elements for a market can seem a little strange, and can cause a feeling of crowding and a bit of disorder. The Market is concessioned to the Cooperative Harmony Ltd. Integrated by traders who occupy the posts. Other information comes from the official website of Tourism appointment Liberty Street 417, CP. 4200. Go ahead and check it out.
