Marco Guizzardi
An important port
Ravenna is not only a city with ancient monuments. Since its first founding, it has always been a coastal city, and for centuries was the most important on the Adriatic Sea, before being overtaken by Venice. But today it continues to be an important fishing port, particularly since the end of the conflict in the Balkans. Nowadays you can see a modern marina with homes, shopping centres and nearly 300 moorings - the development of which has unfortunately been affected by the crisis.
