Laurel? San Juan? San Agustín? Yes, but the new fashionable area to eat pinchos is María Teresa de Gárate Street. It is recommended my locals. They call it “Poor Laurel” because it’s a lot cheaper.
“Yes, we are trying it to make it the new area” explains the owner of one of the bars. “But it’s difficult because the bars are not all close together here”. It is out of the historical downtown, almost pedestrian, so it is wider and calmer. The pinchos are humbler than in the bars in Laurel, but we are still in Rioja, so they are still delicious.
