Diving in a Marine Reserve
One of the things that caught my attention in El Hierro was Mar de Calmas, located in the southeastern coast of the island. It is very unusual to see from the top of the Julán a line that perfectly delimits this sea, as calm as a raft, while on the outside the sea is rough.
The 750 hectares of this Mar de Calmas are a Marine Reserve. Its calm and crystalline waters make it the ideal place to dive and fish (in authorized areas).
