A walk to the mangroves from Palmetto Bay
If you are on the beach in Palmetto Bay and you want to go for a walk, I recommend that you head to the right until you reach the mangroves. These trees are very tolerant to salt and they are usually found on the beach. They have a high biological productivity. Around the mangroves you will see birds, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, and if you walk slowly among them you are sure to find a seahorse... It is very typical that people sell these animals as souvenirs. Mangroves provide a natural protection against catastrophes such as strong winds, and waves produced by hurricanes and even tsunamis.
