Spectacle of lights and fire
The small village of Mancor de la Vall (pop. 903) celebrates its patron saint festivities on June 24th, day of St. John, and the "Fira de l'esclata-sang i de la Muntanya" (The Mountain Fire and Blood Festival) on the final weekend of November.
The fair, organized since 2003 by the Arrels de la Vall association and the town hall, aims to maintain and preserve the traditional mountain activities of this small village at the food of Puig de Massanella. Hunting, livestock, and agriculture, especially the production of olive oil and charcoal, have traditionally been the base of Mancor de la Vall's economy. Due to its proximity with the town of Inca, the village also has a long tradition of shoemaking which continues to this day.
