I was dying to try this pastry shop and this past Saturday we went for breakfast and Mama Framboise beat all of our expectations.
It was packed when we arrived and there wasn’t even a single table available. But, since we’d set our minds on eating there, we decided to stick around and wait. The wait turned out to be short and a friendly waitress informed us that there was a free table on the lower floor.
The decoration is very chic and Parisian, with wooden tables, short chairs, candles, and artfully-arranged pastel sofas.
Alejandro Montes y Ángel Sánchez-Infante are the brains behind the pastry shop’s masterpieces.

The former is a renowned pastry chef who was crowned the Best Young Pastry Chef in Spain, Best Chocolate Chef in Spain, and who won the gold medal at the Open de France for Desserts in 2010. So you imagine the delicacies they serve here. We ordered hot chocolate and coffee, brioche dusted with sugar, bread with tomato, and 2 raspberry tartlets which really wowed me. The best part is the prices. A coffee was 1.20€ and the brioche only 1€. The most expensive things were the tartlets which went for 2.95€.

A very good pastry shop. I especially enjoyed the tropical smoothie and the coconut-pineapple smoothie, as well as the cherry and cheese one. The raspberry tart and pistachio tart are also delicious. The macaroons themselves are worth the return visit. The best part is that you pay only for what you eat and the prices are more than fair.

Fuimos al local de Fernando VI a ver cuanto de bien daban de merendar y si las críticas eran ciertas. Y vamos que si eran ciertas, vaya postres. Tartas, tartaletas y minis al estilo francés combinando lo ácido con lo dulce, lo cual he de decir que casi me produce el desmayo (frambuesa+chocolate), y el té chai, madre mía como estaba. De precio salió a 10€ o así por persona pero luego ninguna cenamos. En definitiva, tengo clarísimo que volveré a merendar allí.

Déjate llevar por las tentaciones de Mamá Framboise, un local que aúna el estilo industrial vintage más de moda con la nostalgia del chocolate caliente y los dulces de las boulangeries francesas tradicionales. El público, de lo más ecléctico, se mezcla en sus mesas para compartir. Si después de tomar un croissant al estilo francés o una tostada de brioche te quedas con ganas de más, siempre puedes pasarte por el mostrador y llevarte alguno de los productos artesanales que tienen para llevar: bizcochos, quiches, tartaletas, bombones… y desde diciembre, ¡dulces navideños! Llevaba pasando por delante mucho tiempo y nunca me había animado a esperar la cola que suelen tener en la entrada; sin embargo, al pasar un sábado temprano decidí probar suerte y me sentaron en una encantadora mesa. Debo decir que tenía miedo de los precios al ver todo tan bien puesto y esos pasteles y tartas tan preciosos pero todo me sorprendió muy gratamente. Tanto las tartas como los cafés estaban a un precio que ya no se acostumbra a ver en muchas de las cafeterías de Madrid y ¡encima estaban buenísimos!

A pesar de que cuánto más escribas mejor llegará la experiencia, para la marca Mama Framboise que hay en la plaza de Colón solo tengo una palabra: Con esa palabra describe lo bueno que está la comida, el buen trato que te dan los empleados, el buen ambiente y la buena decoración que tienen cada uno de sus establecimientos. Además en el mercado que hay en la calle de Claudio Coello tienen un pequeño establecimiento dónde la atención al cliente es extremadamente maravillosa y el café y los macarrons son deliciosos. Recomiendo encarecidamente que compren macarrons.
