Maleo Castle

O castelo de Maleo – mais conhecido como Villa Trecchi – era a residência de Verão da família Trecchi, de Cremona. Cosntruído no século XV sobre as bases de um antigo castelo do qual nada se sabe, pois os registros se perderam no final do século XIX, quando foi vendido. De qualquer forma, o cantigo castelo pertencia à mesma família Trecchi (a proníncia correta é tréki). Passou por algumas reformas que modificaram o seu aspecto original, tendo sido adaptado para diversas funções, no correr dos anos, tendo sido utilizad até como uma pequena fábrica, na qual os serviçais residiam no mezanino. Quando o castelo foi vendido à família Ferri, de Corno Giovine, estes assumiram a obrigação da manutenção da igreja da Anunciada, situada próxima à villa. Foi a partir dessa transferência que o castelo iniciou um período de decadência, com parte do castelo tendo sido alugado para escritórios. Tempos depois, a villa foi vendida a alguns indstriais de Milão e, em seguida, vendida novamente e suas salas hospedaram os escritórios de uma empresa que produzia seda, com um galpão de bichos da seda nos jardins da villa. Durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial cessou a produção da seda no local. O castelo passou então a ser ocupado por uma organização e, em seguida, de desabrigados. Completamente abandonado, o castelo foi quase perdido, até que o proprietário decidiu pela sua demolição. Iniciou.se com o galpão e algumas pequenas construções nos jardins, passando para as estrebarias. Diversos objetos artisiticamente preciosos foram levados embora nessa operação Atualmente a Villa Trechi está na fase final de uma restauração e, provavelmente, abrigará um museu e uma escola de artes. O certo é que a Villa Trecchi é considerada uma das mais belas construções no seu estilo em toda a Lombardia.

Praticamente due "castelli" in uno. Da un lato una residenza signorile del '600 (visitabile) e dall'altro un castello cinquecentesco che per secoli è stato punto di riferimento del Ducato di Milano, in opposizione alla Repubblica di Venezia.
