Madrasa Islom-Huja
Khiva is a complex of palaces, madrasas, mosques and mausoleums. Precious tiles in green and blue tones are integrated seamlessly with the ocher adobe brick. One of the best examples is the minaret of 45 meters high, the tallest in Khiva. Both the madrasa and the minaret are recent constructions of old Khiva, dating from 1910. You can climb the 118 steps to the top of the minaret to enjoy a wonderful view. The interior is very tight and hot, difficult to pass those who go down or vice versa. The madrasa adjacent to museum houses craft of Khiva through the ages, like wood and metal work, jewelry as well as Uzbek and Turkmen carpets.
