Uruguayan Football
The Luis Franzini Stadium is where Defensor Nacional play. It is a tiny stadium, right beside Rodo Park. It can only hold around 5,000 spectators, but when full, it looks like there are more people. In Uruguay football has a special importance. It's like a religion to many ve await the weekend to enjoy the party. Worth going to see a football game. Unfortunately few are played at the Centenario, but you will enjoy it just the same in Franzini. Usually the tickets are pretty cheap and there should be enough being resold. The stands have different names: Colombes, Amsterdam, Olympic and America (like in all stadiums).
One is where you put the team's biggest fans 'ultras', ve spend the whole game singing without stopping for a second. In Uruguayan football there is a lot of yelling. Everyone cries and complains about something, but with a passion that exists in only a few places. As for football, it's of a good quality, but tell that to all Uruguayan players triumphing over in Europe. Highly recommended to go to a game, as it is another way to understand the life of a city and its people.
