Beautiful Renaissance Style
At first, a medieval fortress, the castle of Lude is one of the finest examples of architecture from Renaissance era France. The terrace located on the south facade opens up in a succession of French gardens. It has a unique and personal style that reflects the luxury and pompous life from this period. It has absolutely nothing to envy of the other castles in the region. Its rounded towers are monumental and the pointy ceilings crown this beautiful building perfectly. The gardens situated next to the river, are adorned by a low vegetation and a superb circular fountain. The style of this castle is simple yet beautiful at the same time.
The interior is lined with red velvet and ivory silk curtains which are nothing but a small example of the glamour of this place. It is a work of art from room to room, with the sun shining on its white stone at noon, that, as the skin, adapts to the interior of the building in its perfection. It is a spectacular monument that is definitely not to be missed.
