Uno de los pueblos de interior de la provincia, un gran desconocido. Pude ver en compañia de una amiga que es de alli, su iglesia de Nuestra señora del rosario que data del 1880. callejeando por sus calles estrechas y siempre tendiendo hacia arriba. Vimos su patron San Sebastian en marmol. Y realizamos un sendero por las pedanias cercanas entre ellas la Alcarria....

La primera vez que fui a Lubrin tenía 10 años i fueron mis mejores vacaciones, dormía en la Rambla Aljibe. Mis abuelos son de allí,lugar donde nació mi padre i ahora con 35 años e podido volver. Yo vivo en Barcelona pero cuando piso suelo de Almería me tiemblan las piernas, sobre todo cuando veo el pueblo Lubrin, algo me dice que terminaré viviendo allí.

A unos 75 kilómetros de distancia de Almería, encontramos el pueblo de Lubrín o (Lebrilla), nombre utilizado antiguamente. Situado en el extremo oriental de la sierra de los filabres, se encuentra este pueblo de arquitectura morisca; casas encaladas, callejones estrechos, pequeñas plazas, olores a jazmín y buganvillas pintando las paredes de las casas. Una arquitectura abrupta, al estar asentado entre varios cerros y abriéndose al fértil valle de Lubrín, razón de ser de este pequeño pueblo desde hace varios siglos; donde se puede observar la terrazas abancaladas con almendros. Dispuestos a pasear por sus callejones, simplemente debemos caminar sin rumbo para sentir y recordar su historia; habitada por musulmanes hasta que en 1309 fue reconquistada por el obispo de Cartagena, podemos perdernos por sus calles en cuesta, con geranios en las puertas de las casas, ambiente tranquilo, que perfectamente se puede sentir en cualquier pueblo de la alpujarra, finalmente su historia es paralela a los mismos. Participó en el levantamiento de las alpujarras del siglo XVI y como el resto de pueblos, una vez controlada la sublevación, supuso el destierro de los morisco con la consiguiente despoblación de la zona. Más tarde, con el fin de repoblar el pueblo, 30 familias de Galicia, Extremadura, Murcia y Jaén, se asentaron en esta zona con los beneficios promulgados por Felipe II. Actualmente tierra de emigrantes como todos los pueblos pequeños de nuestra geografía, sigue manteniendo la agricultura y canteras como epicentro de su economía. Si tienes que elegir una fecha para visitarlo, no hay duda, esa es el 20 de enero por la “fiesta del pan” en honor de San Sebastián. Fiesta declarada de interés turístico, donde se lanzan roscos desde los balcones al santo en procesión. Se cree, que esta tradición puede venir de las épocas donde las epidemias de peste hacían estragos entre su población y las personas más pudientes, lanzaban comida y dinero desde los balcones a los pobres, para no entrar en contacto con ellos; asique no lo dudes y hazte con una buena ristra de roscos. Comer: numerosos son los bares con terrazas donde disfrutar de unas tapas, por un precio más que ajustado, déjate llevar por la intuición. Y si tienes tiempo, busca una panadería y no dudes en comprar una torta de manteca, para pasar el resto de la semana. Dormir: variadas son las ofertas de casas rurales por la zona, a 19 kilómetros encontramos el camping más próximo y si vas en furgoneta, “be free my friend” pero siempre respetando el entorno. Senderismo: Sendero de las Fuentes de Lubrín, circular de 13,7 kilómetros, saliendo desde el pueblo y con una dificultad moderada. ¿Qué visitar? Pasea por sus calles, la Iglesia, el mirador donde se encuentra el “Centro de interpretación de alimentación Rural” en el centro del pueblo, donde poder disfrutar de unas vista panorámica de todo el valle y las calles próximas para mí las más bonitas.
