A market with many opportunities
This is one of the places in Aridane that you should be sure to visit when you get to La Palma.
Arqual is a farmhouse, completely surrounded by banana trees. And here, in Llano de Arqual, specifically in Sotomayor plaza, is where you’ll find interesting big Canary-style houses of great archetectual value. I’d highlight the Massieu Van de Valle house (7th century), as well as the Vélez de Ontanilla, Sotomayor, Poggio, and Maldonado houses, as well as the San Pedro chapel.
This is where you’ll find the market each Sunday in the Llano de Argual square. It’s your typical flea market and has become a meeting point for residents and tourists.
The handicraft market, organic products, naturist products, glass-blowing shop, and the popular German-speaking meeting point are among the many attractions this Sunday market has to offer.
Enjoy the market. It’s an ideal place for finding souvenirs and gifts.
