Los Congajos Beach

La Palma is a destination that has kept its distance from massive tourism. It has been recognized by the UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve.

Los Cancajos is located in Breña Baja, near Santa Cruz de la Palma, the island’s capital. Despite being a touristic center (one of the few of the island), it is a very calm place. Its black sand beach has a wonderful promenade, which allows you to discover curious little coves.

It is a beach that is worthwhile, it is very clean and surrounded by nature. You can see on the background the wooded mountains, typical of La Palma. I really recommend

The Los Cancajos Beach is located in Breña Baja, one of the most touristic areas in La Palma. It is full of apartments and it is a very calm area on the afternoons and nights.

A lot of people come here in the warm months. The sand is black in color and the views of the hillsides and cliffs are spectacular. Moreover, the beach has a lot of rocks which form little coves. Be careful because the rocks are slippery, one of the rocks broke my shoe!

It is a great beach for diving, I saw a lot of divers going in and out while the children played in the sand. I thought that it was a clean and calm beach, ideal for a relaxing day. There are not too many waves on the sea, but it is quite cold.
