López de Heredia Viña Tondonia Winery

This is without a doubt one of the most fantastic places I have ever visited. Viña Tondonia is a hundred-year-old wine cellar located in Haro. It has something magical inside, especially if you discover it in company of the future heir, who tells you about the history of her family and her passion for wine.

You can walk through the huge wine cellars, visit such an incredible place like the wine cemetery or taste one of the wines with an aperitif, but there is also a lot more you can do there. During the weekend it is open to the public, and I swear you should not miss out on it.

Inside, what fascinated me the most was the wine cemetery. It is a place where they preserve the best and oldest bottles.

As soon as you enter the city of Haro you bump into this old wine cellar of the López Heredia family, one of the oldest in La Rioja and one with a wonderful architecture. It is considered the "Wine Cathedral" and although it has changed a lot since it was founded, it is very surprising how the original beauty has been preserved. I recommend a guided visit, but remember to book it in advance.

Situated in the town of Haro Lopez De Heredia you can find Tondonia Vine, the oldest vineyard in the region. It is characterized by the development of artisanal wine which is produced by the family that for generations were devoted to the care and processes of traditional Rioja wine. They have more than three centuries of history, ensuring its quality.
