CricriJ
A knitting shop
London - February 2011
During a search on the net, I found a small shop dedicated to knitting that seemed to be in a good location. We got off the bus very close to our hotel in Camden, a vibrant neighborhood filled with small shops dedicated to decoration, toy shops where you can find old teddy or porcelain dolls and wooden toys, as well as restaurants and Starbucks coffee on every street corner. It took us about twenty minutes to find the right street, a pedestrian area hidden between two buildings. Here you'll find antiques dealers, clothes sellers, charming shops and booths with junk dealers selling vases, pots, dishes, clothes, bags, and tourists everywhere!
Finally, we found this little shop whose narrow entrance looks like the entrance to a dollhouse. Inside are three floors devoted to knitting, with high quality wool in all the colors you could imagine. It's a real Aladdin's cave with wool, knitting needs, buttons, books ... everything is fantastic, alpaca, merino, silk, lace ... prices suit the quality, and the assistants are very helpful and friendly. Unmissable if you're a knitter. If you want to treat yourself like I did, you buy the fabulous knitting needles called "Lantern Moon" made of precious wood with a stunning slide, a must for knitting. Stock is limited so do not hesitate to call to reserve.
