Lombok Chinese Cemetery

On the way to Pura Segara on the Indonesian island of Lombok, a Chinese cemetery surprised us along the road. We could not help stopping for a moment to look closely at the paintings and tombs that were so different from the Western concept of a cemetery. There weren't any flowers, but offerings of small clay figures and fetishes. The colourful decoration of the graves, surrounded by the greenery, made it look like a picturesque exotic postcard.
