In the land of the Bearded Vulture
"The Loch of the Lowes" is next to Dunkeld and covers almost 98 hectares. It has been declared a nature reserve and is run by the Scottish Wildlife Trust Association, which is partly organized by the Scottish government. Since the late 1960s it has been a hangout for the Bearded Vulture, a rare and endangered species, which makes it visited and appreciated by ornithologists. There's a lookout for these species where (after paying) you are given binoculars or a monitor with wide pictures from where positions can be obtained. It's beautiful and a peaceful place to stroll and see nature in action.
