Loch Morar

A big unknown, despite being the 5th biggest lake in the UK. Research in Loch Morar has shown that the origin of this lake was an impressive glacier. Another strange thing is that it's the deepest lake in Britain with its impressive 310 meters of depth. Many are perplexed when they mention the 171 meter length of the monster Loch Ness. Like each and every one of the Scottish lochs, Loch Morar has its own creature and legend, Nessie is just the most famous. Loch Morar was declared a natural park in Scotland to improve its protection and even access to the sea to harness the power from the Hydraulic power centre that was installed a few years ago.
