1 review of Loch Ard

Way of the Trossachs (1) - Stirling

The Trossachs natural park is known in much of the world for its beauty and spaciousness. To reduce it to the title of Loch Lomond would almost be a sin, it's much more than that, even though it has contact with the lake there are areas with difficult access that are unknown and that reflect the less commercial and more wild face of Loch Lomond. There's a road that connects Stirling with this lake that forms a tourist route of the Natural Reserve of the Trossachs (corresponding to the district of Stirling). Loch Ard was the 1st scenic stop on our journey, this lake/loch is at the foot of the small village of Kinlochard, where the lake is most visited.

The feeling we had when we glimpsed the lake was like a dream, as if it were a large mirror, almost absolute calm and beauty on days with a little sun. There comes a time when the winding and narrow road seems to be at the same level as the lake, causing a strange feeling. There are landscapes that are difficult to describe, and this is one of them, so I hope the images and videos are more eloquent than I am. The walk along the shores and nearby lake is wonderful, away from noise and human life, with birds, squirrels, hedgehogs and endless nature. An ideal spot to lose yourself a little (or a lot) that will not leave you indifferent and with little anecdotes like 2 ponies next to a no parking sign.
