La librería de los frescos
A esta preciosa librería se accede desde el patio Sarbievijus de la Univesidad de Vilnius. En su interior libros y pequeños regalos ocupan las estanterías (estos últimos a mejores precios que en las tiendas de la calle). Pero lo mejor del lugar son sin duda los frescos que decoran bóvedas y columnas. Fueron pintados en 1978 por Antanas Kmieliauskas. En las bóvedas hay figuras yacentes que representan las ciencias y las artes, mientras que en las columnas están representados profesores, alumnos y mecenas de la universidad.
In this beautiful bookstore is accessed from the courtyard Sarbievijus Univesidad Vilnius. Inside books and small gifts occupy the shelves (these last at better prices than in the shops of the street). But the best part of the place are definitely the frescoes decorating vaults and columns. They were painted in 1978 by Antanas Kmieliauskas. In the vaults there are recumbent figures representing the arts and sciences, while the columns are represented teachers, students and patrons of the university.
