ideal place to spend a few days

Located 2 steps from the city center, between the tourist office and the railway station, this is an ideal place to spend a few days. The organization is great (at least in August), the rest of the year, being a dorm, I don't know. All rooms have 2 beds with a toilet and shower. You need a key to get in and out and also for the kitchen and laundry. Next to the kitchen is a large terrace with tables, where the young people living there BBQ. There are no pans, silverware, plates or glasses but if you ask reception will give you a large tupperware container with everything you need (at no additional cost).

We found the kitchen very clean, except one day someone left the sink looking like a dump. There are plenty of basic rules with signs everywhere: Turn off the lights, no smoking throughout the premises, leave the kitchen clean. In the kitchen there are a few boxes to store groceries but take padlock. We left a box unlocked all day and didn't have problems but there were signs that said there had been a case of "stealing food". To use a washing machine you have to sign at reception and the last time you can use it is 21.30 but it only costs 2 €, including washer, dryer, detergent and fabric softener. This door is locked, so no one else can enter. There are is internet - five hours costs 2 € and it is open until 20:00 or so - a very "French" schedule. Just 30 km away is Puy du Fou theme park, so given the prices it is worth getting accommodation here. Adults about 10 € / night and children half (without breakfast, but you get to use the free kitchen). 13 km away is Maulevrier Japanese Garden, which is the largest in Europe.
