A typical food market
You'll find something named Les Halles in most French cities, generally a covered market. In Tours, the place has a reputation for being a bit posh, with plenty of sausages, hams, breads, fish, Italian and Vietnamese foods, and of course hundreds of cheeses! It's at its busiest on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. You'll find two of the city's best bakeries around here, Hardouin (with dozens of specialty breads) and Mahou (which offers organic bread). Les Halles is a good place to buy a sandwich made with some of the top local produce, like rillettes and goat's cheese.
