Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse

In the year 1884 it was constructed on the Staten Island Lighthouse Rescue San Juan. The lighthouse was named "Lighthouse at the End of the World" after the novel by Jules Verne (Le Phare du Boute du Monde. Dc.1 905). It was named this because it was the last reference that sailors had before going into the unknown continent of Antarctica.

This photo was taken on a sail on the Beagle Channel on the island abutting Lighthouse At The End of The World- as named in Jules Verne's book.

It is a wonderful place to visit and enjoy. The sensation of being at the end of the world is unique!
