Best Fried Chicken in Town
Welcome to the south, where food is calorically dense but finger-licking delicious. There are a handful of really great places to indulge in this fattening cuisine, but Lee's is a local favorite for fried chicken.
There is zero ambiance at Lee's and it's not in an interesting neighborhood, closer to the DMV than of anything of interest. However, when you're downtown, it's just a quick drive away. Better yet, walk there to burn off the delicious meal you're about to consume.
Lee's Famous comes in Original Crispy or a Spicier flavor. Both are delicious, though the added kick of the spicy sets it apart from most other restaurants. The biscuits, which come with every meal, and buttery with just the right amount of salt to make it a perfect bite. Add in the sweet tea and maybe some potato wedges (covered in the same spice blend as the chicken), and you have yourself a tremendous meal.
