First great department store

It is the first store in the large chain Printemps, a sort of large department store, one of the first "grands Magasins" in Paris from the nineteenth century. Now it's still a fashion mecca; It's the leading business for wedding registries, and one of the few department stores that attracts both fashionistas and mere tourists, who just want to see the craziness inside. Today there are 22 other Printemps, which form part of the group Pinault Printemps Redoute. There is even a shop in Tokyo!

The Printemps is on Haussmann Bouvelard, or at the metro stops Lafayette or Havre Caumartin. It's right next to the Galeries Lafayette flagship store, another store of the same style.

It was created in 1865, when the Saint Lazare had only one new train station. It is one of the first stores with fixed prices. There is no need to spend hours haggling, you can feel, look, and try things on without pressure. In the Haussmann store there is a beautiful Art Nouveau dome that you have to see from inside. They took it away during the war to protect it because it was so valuable.

Pintemps Haussman

This is the original Printemps store, one of the first department stores around Paris in the mid-nineteenth century. It is a temple of fashion, one of the few that attracts many tourists. Today, there are 22 other Printemps stores that belong to the Pinault Printemps Redoute group. They even have a branch in Tokyo! Printemps is located on Boulevard Haussmann, one of the great avenues of Paris. It is located right next to the main Galeries Lafayette store. It has been in existence since 1865, when the neighborhood of Saint Lazare Station was almost deserted and the station just created. It boasts a great Art Nouveau dome with stained glass windows.

Even during the war it was dismantled to preserve it.

Le Printemps

Excellent
Spring is located on the famous Boulevard Haussmann in Paris. This is a chain of department stores, like Galeries Lafayette, yet created before the last: in 1865. The fabulous building Boulevard (first built), Art Nouveau was at the heart of the Universal Exhibition of 1900. Then in 1910, another Spring store opens, right next to the old one. We note in particular the majestic domes of different shops and old style, the terrace at the top is also a good place to have a beautiful view of the city. Walk on the boulevard at the Christmas and admire the windows of department stores is a magical moment, not to be missed! As the slogan of the early 20th century, "The stores Printemps Paris's most elegant."
