Convent of the Discalced Carmelites is in the Plaza del Trabuco Basin, one of my favorites for its monuments, history, sights and communion with nature that surrounds it. The building is the seventeenth century, quite irregular shape and is divided into the part of the convent and church. The convent is fully restored and hosts the Menéndez Pelayo International University, Vice Chancellor of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, a residence and Antonio Perez Foundation, where interesting temporary exhibitions are made. You can reach the monastery from the Plaza Mayor, just up the street of San Pedro. The area is very beautiful and is a World Heritage Site since 1996.

The Convent of the Discalced Carmelites is located in the highest part of Cuenca, just before the Provincial Historical Archive and the ruins of the castle. The building, which stands out in particular for a Baroque façade was intended to the Carmelites in 1608. Note the irregular shape of the adjacent structures, to adapt to the mountainous territory.
