Castle of Zahara: now with a club and bakery
The Castle of Zahara and its walls make up the most impressive monuments of the city. They began to construct it in the late 15th century, by order of the Duke of Medina Sidonia. They had to protect it. Flanked by 4 watchtowers and with a tower in the middle called the Tower of Homage, which was part Jadraza Palace, inside the castle and summer house of Medina Sidonia. Next to the castle there were huts and blocks, which originated in zahareña, the city we know today as Zahara was a place that was frequented by traders. Since the yaer 1949 it has been a National Heritage Monument. What is not explained that since then it has not been restored, protected or exploited.
