Largo Cónego José María Gomes

This is one of the most central and busiest squares in the old town. It's the former convent of Santa Clara and now houses the offices of the Municipal Chamber (or Guimarães City Council) and the Alfredo Pimenta Archive, opposite is the Public Library. It's a fairly large square, cobbled and pedestrianized in the center (with an ornamental fountain), on the side runs the emblematic Rua Santa Maria and the perimeter is a row of trees with benches.
