Explore Forests and Beaches
Larabee State Park off Chuckanut Drive (about 5 miles south of the Fairhaven district of Bellingham, Washington) is a big playground of scenic hiking trails, sandy beaches, and freshwater lakes. This popular park offers campsites in the forest and gorgeous sunset views along the Samish Bay shoreline. When the Salish Sea tide is out, explore tide pools teeming with crabs, sea anemones, starfish, and other critters. Or go hike along some of the 15 miles of trails to lakes, mountain tops, or passing unique rock formations. There are also 13 miles of trails for bicycling. Lots to do!
