Beautiful lake surrounded by ancient forests
Lovely Lake Quinault on the southern edge of Washington's Olympic National Park lies in the Quinault Rainforest, which boasts the most record- sized giant evergreen tree species in the smallest area in the world. Massive western hemlocks, Sitka spruce, western red cedar, and Douglas firs have stood here for hundreds of years.
Walk well-maintained trails along the lake and through the forests, stop by or stay at historic Lake Quinault Lodge, drive around the lake, or go fishing. Be sure to bring your rain gear just in case because it rains an average of 333 centimeters (131 inches) per year.
