Adventure To Anywhere

Worth The Hike!

Lake Agnes Tea House is located 3.5 km from the parking lot at Lake Louise, and can only be accessed by trail. The hike is supposed to take anywhere between one and two hours, but we made it up in about 55 minutes going at a consistent pace. The tea house itself is beautiful and rustic and serves a wide variety of teas, coffee, baked goods, soups, sandwiches and fresh baked bread. They have different specials daily, so be sure to ask. The ingredients are either flown in by helicopter or hiked up by the staff, and many items are baked fresh right in the kitchen of the tea house. We ordered a large pot of Masala Chai Tea, two cups of soup with bread, an apple crumble and a fresh-baked cookie, and it came to around $45.

However, for the experience, it was well worth the cost, and the hike to get here. If you're hiking up during the summer or on a weekend, expect to wait a while for a table, as this is an extremely popular attraction. The tea house is closed from Canadian Thanksgiving until early June.
