La Venta Museum Park
One of the attractions of Villahermosa, Tabasco, is undoubtedly the Museum Park "La Venta". This museum was opened to the public on March 4, 1958. The park is divided into two main parts, namely a zoological and an archaeological area. In the first part one can appreciate 518 specimens of 62 species, including jaguars, crocodiles, pumas, spiders, howler monkeys, snakes and lots more. In the second part monumental pieces of the Olmec culture can be found. In Mexiko this museum is unique with its recreation of a rainforest in the center of the capital city. A tour of the park is very interesting as one very closely experience endemic species of the region.
