Coline
A curious place
Located on the boundary between the Lower East Side and Chinatown, the Sons of Israel Kalvarer synagogue is a curious place to visit, showing how New York has been shaped by waves of immigrants. It is indeed an old synagogue, once a busy place of worship, perfectly integrated into the Jewish quarter of New York's Lower East Side ... which was then transformed into a Buddhist temple with the arrival of more Asians!
