The small Venice of Tregor
The castle of La Roche-Jagu is in the center of trégor, crowning the trieux estuary. This fort has 2 different styled facades: 1 of them has many openings and the other has a more austere one. What is most noticable is the view of the valley: simply beautiful. When you see the horizon, your gaze is lost among the green of the earth and the blue sky, and then you start to feel as though you are on a cloud. In the 15th century, Catherine de Tronquindy constructed this castle on the site of an ancient fortress of the 11th century, which still has some forts and walls. I advise walking around the park, and don´t miss the garden of Singles.
Taking the Path of the East, you will get to the promontory. Prepare your camera because the views captivate even the most insensitive. A few miles away, is Pontrieux (literally, "bridge over the trieux"). Built on the waterfront, this small town is nicknamed as the "Little Venice of trégor". The best thing to do to know is to walk along the river. Hopefully that will not flood someday ...
