Good quality and size
La Porte Didot café is at the gate of Paris of the same name that is accessible by tram 3 or by walking from Orléans gate. It's quiet with workers and locals who come daily for a different dish. They prepare a simple meal, of good quality and size, at a decent price. I recommend the Pot au Feu (17 euros), which is a beef broth with winter vegetables like turnips, carrots and potatoes and makes a full lunch. Sometimes they have good seafood, oysters and mussels, the selection is seasonal. The cassoulet is another signature dish, duck meat in gravy with beans (14 euros), filet of sole (12 euros) and there are great salads if you're not hungry.
