La Lata is a comfy and casual "bar de conservas" (preserves bar) on Calle Ponzano, a street in Madrid's traditional Chamberi district which is quickly becoming the go-to street for tapas-lovers in downtown. La Lata puts a modern twist on the classic Spanish bar de conservas (a bar which serves wine, vermouth, canned seafood, and cured meats and cheeses), adding comfy seats in doorways open to the street, great playlists over the speakers, and a small but well-chosen menu which emphasizes top-shelf canned goods, Iberico meats, and even some house-cured dishes.
