Although some legends claim that the famous White Church of Comrie stands on an ancient worship site, the historical data available suggests quite the opposite. It is one of the most iconic buildings in the village, so no wonder its inhabitants try to give it a legendary feel ... but nevertheless, it was built fairly recently, in 1805. In 1965 the Calvinist Church of Scotland gave the building to the town to be used as a community center, as another local church had been built. It is one of the prettiest buildings in the area, along with its historic cemetery on a small hill next to the River Earn, and catches the traveler's eye immediately.
