La Garenne Lemot
Very close to Clisson we found this amazing garden. It was an old manor game reserve, at present the space is dedicated to the preservation of regional and exotic flora. Created in 1805 by the sculptor Frédéric Lemot, Le Garenne Lemot has become a bucolic garden full of romance along the banks of the River Sevre in Nantes. A walk full of ornamental decorations that evoke ancient times, the arts and local history that occurred here. With references to the Italian style and you cannot stop admiring the decorative architectural elements in buildings and real pine lush vegetation accompanying the ride.
From the terraces you get a great view of the city of Clisson and the ruins of the medieval castle. At the top of the garden, the buildings are in the Italian style, taking the visitor back to the Renaissance Tuscany. Its red brick buildings with gray touchs give a hint of abandonment that allows it to sell its dreamlike image more. A place worth seeing and very colorful.
