Cheap and cheerful
La fleche d'Or is a well known concert hall east of Paris. It's in Bagnolet street and can be reached by metro line 3 (Gambetta stop) followed by a 10 minute walk. It has a restaurant so you can eat while watching the concert. The building is actually an old train station and is named after the old train from Paris to Calais, the Golden Arrow. Students of the School of Fine Arts in Paris turned it into a concert hall and cafe in the 90s. At the concert level there's everything (hip hop, rock, pop, etc.) and the program is on its website. It's a place where new artists dare to perform and it's known as the place where you can say "I saw so and so, when they weren't famous...".
