Good, inexpensive restaurant

We were vacationing in Laredo last week and a place I enjoyed eating at was La Casona. It’s next to the promenade, the second street before you reach the harbor, only 2 minutes away from the historic town center.

During the week we were in Laredo we went a few times and they have a wide variety of tapas and full plates, which makes it great for snacking. On Sundays, they have shrimp for and tentacles (which are like fried squid legs, very tasty) for only 1 euro.

It's a fairly cheap restaurant. When we went for full dishes it worked out at 15 euros between the two of us and we ate until we burst. We asked for a “sartenada” ( a skilled of fried eggs, potatoes, and plenty of chorizo and black pudding for only 7 euros, I think), and we also ordered some delicious Cabrales (Spanish blue cheese) croquettes for I think about 2 euros and mussels with homemade tomato sauce which, if I remember correctly, were 4 euros or so.

Very good meal of the day

At last the rain gave us some respite and we were able to go to Laredo to spend the morning. Following the recommendation of Minube we approached this restaurant. It has two menus, one for 10 and the other for 15 euros. We ordered that of 10. The starters weren’t bad but the fish in the main dish was very fresh and well prepared. Highly Recommended.

Good food

We came from Mestas en route to Barcelona and stopped in Laredo at the La Casona. It has two menus for 15€ and 10€. The plates are filled to the brim with very good food.

The service is also very good, but if you come after 14:30 you have to wait a while, especially in August. In short, it’s a very good value for money.

Fine!

Today we dined here, and in general, fine. Very good portions prices, fairly generous and in a traditional inn atmosphere. I recommend the squid with caramelized onions and the scrambled eggs with chorizo and black pudding.

Value for money

The meat wonderful, the aperitifs (rated the best the last two years), the meal, the menu, the service, an obligatory stop in Laredo, 50 meters above the beach and marina, amazing...Thanks Casona!
