The restaurant La Carreta of Don Olegario near the February 20 Plaza, owned since 1974 by the Oyarzun family. It was originally owned by Francisco and after he retired it was passed to his son Martin. He didn't inherit just the story of a restaurant, but a tradition and a family who makes sure their place is THE choice in Cafayate. Its friendly and regional décor offer warmth. In the winter it's nice to be near the roaring fire and sharing warm national and international dishes. The typical dishes are made from regional products in dishes such as tamale, tripe stew, the carbonada and authentic empanadas from Salta with minced meat, billy goats, lambs and rabbits arising from the grill or in stews and other delicious delicacies which are accompanied by homemade bread from a clay oven and the best wines from Cafayate.
