10 reviews of Carrera Séptima

A fascinating experience

Carrera Septima is one of the roads that runs from the city to the eastern hills. In the early twentieth century, the street now known as Septima was a passage that ran from Plaza de Bolivar to 22nd Street (Plaza de las Nieves), and was called Calle Real del Comercio. Urban life began to spring up along this axis: shops, restaurants, and more. Later, a tramline was added, connecting the business centre to the entire city. The street was the site of the fateful assassination of Jorge Eliecer Gaitan, the event known as the Bogotazo. This street is filled with Colombian history and the history of Bogota, and today, it passes through different styles of architecture, making it a fascinating experience.
