Solid beer shop in Madrid
La Buena Cerveza is a relatively-new beer shop in the Chueca neighborhood in downtown Madrid and is a must for all you hop-heads looking or a fix. As a store, it's one of the better ones you'll find in the city and stocks literally hundreds of beers. The shelves are organized by country and type (stouts, IPA's, wheat beers, etc.) and what I especially like is that they have an entire section devoted to local craft brewers from around Spain.
Also, right when you enter the joint there's a fridge with a couple dozen hand-picked beers on ice so you can grab a bottle and enjoy it on one of the intimate tables in the back of the store. After six or seven years of swilling Mahou and San Miguel, you can imagine this American's delight at entering La Buena Cerveza and seeing frosty bottles of Blue Moon and Sierra Nevada in the cooler. Needless to say, they were comfortably in my belly within a matter of minutes!
