Kügelgenhaus

This building houses a museum entirely dedicated to Romanticism in Dresden (Gerhard von Kugelgen is a painter who lived here in the 1700's), but there's also a bar. During the day it serves as the museum restaurant, but it's also open by night, when the museum is closed. It was very popular, typically Bavarian with bratwurst, sauerkraut and potatoes. The prices are very good. It's located within the district of Neustadt, on the opposite side of the Elbe from the centre, where the most famous galleries, churches, etc are. This is the district which is the most popular with the locals.
