Kuan Yin's Statue, Penang, Malaysia

Located on the top of the Kek Lok Si temple, in the hills surrounding Georgetown, Kuan Yin is a huge bronze statue depicting the goddess of mercy. From the lower part of the temple, you can take a cable car up to the statue, for RM4 return. The statue is 30 metres high, surrounded by an imposing structure with decorated columns holding up the grand roof. Devotees can purchase a tile, with their name engraved on it. All around there is a large green area with several small temples and statues. A visit to the Kek Lok and the statue of Kuan Yin is something truly special.
