Koro, A Town in the Heights
KORO, a village on the heights Koro is the only village in Burkina Faso high. They say that the first inhabitant was a man who, tired of the wars between tribes, climbed this mountain to live in peace. As time went by, other joined him and eventually settled there. In this quiet village life goes on as if time hasn't passed at all and it is divided into three quarters - the potters and that of the blacksmiths and that of the farmers. In each square there is a fetish that protects them from the dangers and drives away bad luck. A simple climb by huge granite blocks reward us with spectacular views, especially on the side of Banfora.
