ANADEL
Important link for centuries
Llocated close to Limassol in southern Cyprus which has been an important link for centuries between Europe, Asia and Africa. It was built in the 13th century by the Knights Templar, whom established the Great Commission until its downfall in the 14th century. Shortly after it became the property of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. In the chapel of the castle, Richard the Lionheart, then King of England and Berengaria of Navarre were married sometime during the 13th century. During British rule, the fortifications of the castle were used primarily as a prison and today, these areas are home to the Museum of Medieval History.
