Huge kitchens
One of the most amazing things in Topkapi Palace are, curiously, their huge kitchens. Impossibly-sized pots and giant fireplaces where they made food for more than 5,000 people daily, from the Sultan to the servants. Currently it houses a collection of interesting Chinese porcelain that's worth a look. Istanbul was, for many years, the world's second most important place for this type of porcelain (after China, of course). One of the memorable places in the palace.
